Our Shot is an independent publication launched in April 2025 by Charlotte & Leo Svirsky. Our goal is to deliver a weekly newsletter with simple ideas for actions that people (especially kids) can take to resist the Trump administration.

This idea started when Leo came home one day and said that he was worried about what Trump was doing, and wanted to do something to fight back. As we researched ideas, we realized that many of the actions we were finding were not accessible for kids, or might not be things we could realistically and regularly do. We realized that we could play a role in sharing inspiration with others.

It is easy to get burned out in times like these, to feel hopeless and overwhelmed by the magnitude of the damage being done to our country. We want to remind people that even on difficult days, small acts of love and community matter. As the Trump administration works to drive people apart, we can come back together.

This is not a replacement for voting. Please vote! Please protest! Please contact your elected officials! Do all of the things that adults can do as engaged citizens.

And as you do all of those things, and hopefully feel inspired by the ideas we share, remember that there are 8-year-olds who have spent the majority of their lives under a Trump presidency, and they not only deserve better, they want to make the world better themselves.
