Our Shot: October 29, 2025
Welcome to the 27th edition of Our Shot, a weekly newsletter of actions that anyone (especially kids) can take to resist the Trump administration.
We missed a week last week but now we're back! We have two actions for this week, both on the larger side, both important!
Action 1: Donate to your local food pantry or community fridge.
We have done this action before, but it's more important now than ever as the ongoing government shutdown means tens of millions of people will lose their federal food and nutrition benefits. While Trump and Republicans hold vulnerable people's benefits hostage for political gain, we can do our part to provide food to our neighbors and communities and donate to organizations trying to fill the enormous gap in support.
Action 2: VOTE!
Tuesday, November 4 is Election Day. Make sure to vote - every election matters, every vote counts. Take the next few days to learn about your local ballot, do your research, and make a plan to vote!
Also - if you are a parent, make sure to engage your children in the act of voting. Children who engage with their parents' voting are more likely to vote in the future, and there are all kinds of ripple effects to family civic participation.
Highlights!

We are not throwing away our shot!
