Our Shot: July 9, 2025
Welcome to the 13th edition of Our Shot, a weekly newsletter of actions that anyone (especially kids) can take to resist the Trump administration.
Smaller action: One of the many upsetting things about the Trump presidency is the ways that the media coverage of him can normalize or downplay the impact of his policies and rhetoric.
Our smaller action this week is to look at the differences in regional and national coverage of the news in general, and how the sources of news skew what we see and how we see it. We found a cool website that lets you look at today's front pages from sources both around the country and around the world (we definitely recommend looking at international sources and their coverage of Trump and world events!)
Larger action: Make food for your community!
From Feeding America:
The passage of the budget reconciliation bill is a significant setback for people and communities facing barriers to accessing the food and resources they need to thrive.
Find and support a local organization that brings meals or food to members of your community in need.
We have been volunteering for Community Cooks in the Boston area since 2016, an organization which assembles teams of volunteers to make a monthly meal for a partner agency. If you are in the Boston area and interested in Community Cooks specifically, they are always looking for volunteers - learn more here!

Do you have any ideas for actions people can take? Have you taken an action of resistance that you would like to share? Please email ctsvirsky@gmail.com to let us know - we would love to hear from you!
We are not throwing away our shot!
