Our Shot: June 25, 2025
Welcome to the 11th edition of Our Shot, a weekly newsletter of actions that anyone (especially kids) can take to resist the Trump administration.
We'll be quick this week because it's summer break so our schedules are crazy, and it's very very hot outside! We hope you are staying cool and inspired wherever you are.
Smaller action: Wear and display rainbows for the final week of Pride month (and beyond!). Learn about the history of the rainbow Pride Flag and the different symbols that you may see in June.

Larger action: Borrow or buy and read a book that has been banned due to LGBTQ+ content.
Did you know that a large number of books that are banned are targeted specifically for the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters and themes? According to PEN America, of the books banned in the 2023-2024 school year, 39% included LGBTQ+ characters or people.
Resist by reading! We loved this list of banned picture books as a starting point. We'd love to hear from you with any favorites as well!

Do you have any ideas for actions people can take? Have you taken an action of resistance that you would like to share? Please email ctsvirsky@gmail.com to let us know - we would love to hear from you!
We are not throwing away our shot!
