Our Shot: May 28, 2025

Welcome to the eighth edition of Our Shot, a weekly newsletter of actions that anyone (especially kids) can take to resist the Trump administration.

Smaller(ish) action: Support your local public library!

The Trump administration is attempting to eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the agency which provides federal funding to libraries and museums across the country. Libraries are important community hubs: shared spaces that are open and free to people of all ages and backgrounds. Take some time this week to pay a visit to your local library, or look at the calendar of events and help get the word out to amplify their work.

Larger action: Our larger action this week comes courtesy of Leo's friend Wyatt and his family, who have been participating in the Tesla Takedown protest in Dedham!

"Our protest goal is to remind consumers that they can withhold their dollars and approval from companies they believe are not supportive of our democratic values."

You can find a local Tesla Takedown action and learn more here. As our own Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren said: "Unelected billionaire Elon Musk and his co-president Donald Trump think this country should work for billionaires and everyone else should just bow down." Tesla Takedown events are an opportunity to show them that we won't!
