Our Shot: September 3, 2025
Welcome to the 20th edition of Our Shot, a weekly newsletter of actions that anyone (especially kids) can take to resist the Trump administration.
Smaller action: Get familiar with and share back-to0school resources for immigrant students and families.
With school starting for us this week, we wanted to make sure to share these back to school resources from the MIRA coalition. Familiarize yourself with this information and share as much as you can to make sure families in your community know their rights as the school year begins.

Larger action: Write letters to voters with Vote Forward!
Vote Forward is an organization that enables volunteers to write letters to voters to help increase participation of historically underrepresented populations. Our family has written letters with Vote Forward before and they make it incredibly easy to volunteer from home and on your own time to engage with voters across the country.
The current campaign is focused on turning out younger voters for the 2025 Pennsylvania Supreme Court judicial elections this fall, so it felt particularly appropriate for our newsletter! We'll be writing letters this weekend - let us know if you want to join us (in-person or virtually) to work together!

Share outs:
We had a chance to visit our local community fridge this morning and stock it with some fresh fruit and vegetables. It was empty when we arrived, so this was a helpful reminder for our family to try to make it there more often.

Given the name of our newsletter, we have to mention that this weekend is the 10th anniversary of Hamilton! The film version will be showing in theaters nationwide - this is your shot to see it on the big screen!
Do you have any ideas for actions people can take? Have you taken an action of resistance that you would like to share? Please email ctsvirsky@gmail.com to let us know - we would love to hear from you!
We are not throwing away our shot!
